The colour pink has gained tremendous popularity as of late. 'Millennial Pink' or 'Tumblr Pink' as it is known to some is light in tone - a sort of dusky shade which some have referred to as salmon's cooler cousin. The recent adoption of pink is this generation's way of reclaiming antiquated notions of prettiness and its association with adolescent girls. A qualitative psychological study conducted by Veronika Koller (2008) found that many now associate the colour pink with independence and post-feminist femininity. Countless designers including Gucci, Céline and Balenciaga have given the colour a high fashion re-birth, showcasing striking pink looks in both women's and menswear collections in recent seasons. The colour pink is now void of an upper age limit or gender and rightly so because 'pretty' should have no boundaries.

For this look, I fell in love with the way the dark shade of this Frill Trim Bardot Neck New Look jumpsuit matched the colour of my braids (I have a thing about monochrome). The fabric hugged my curves effortlessly and most importantly, I felt comfortable. I personally think you can never have too much pink so I paired the jumpsuit with my well loved fuschia  suedette courts from Dorothy Perkins. I did however make sure to keep my accessories extremely simple to avoid a pink malfunction.
